In light of the ridiculously huge hail that fell just a while back, has anyone experienced serious roof damage?? It seems like our entire neighborhood is getting new roofs put on. Is this the case all over the upstate? Does anyone have a good roof company to recommend?
There were about 6 homes getting a new roof last week in Hudson Forest when I went through. A friend of mine who lives there asked about recommendations, and I am personally a fan of Allcon Roofing:
When was this hailstorm? We have had roofers come by wanting to check our roof. We live just off of Hudson Rd near Old Spartanburg Rd.
I live in the same general area as you, dlhanson, and I don't recall any hail hard or large enough to do damage to my roof. Maybe we didn't get it here?
There's also this company going around Greenville, maybe two, that tell you how to get a "new roof" for free by claiming hail or wind damage. It kind of disgusted me that they were blantantly "working the system" like that.
There was a lot of development in Greenville 20-25 years ago and many of the houses roofs now need to be replaced. We have many new roofs in our 20-something year old neighborhood.
You may be seeing "pent up" demand as people had put off large expenses like roofs until the economy was more stable, too.

There was a kid came to my door last week with info on this company. The brochure he left was terribly done and was incoherent. I told the kid I could call my insurance company as easy as his company could. The big thing is we did not get any hail in the last couple of months.
Last night was literally the first time I've ever heard a meteorologist use the phrase "hen egg size hail".
