That's right, yet another new restaurant recently opened in downtown Greer. Vittles Tyme features cooked-from-scratch, "old fashioned" recipes passed down from the owner's grandmother.

I'm fairly certain that was intentional. It's a lousy name for a restaurant in my opinion, regardless of its spelling. Hopefully their business will be successful nonetheless.

Just to clarify, it's not downtown, it's off of Wade Hampton and Poinsett. It's a square box that has been 3 different restaurants, an ice cream shop/internet cafe, a florist and a caterer; all within the four years that we've lived here.

Thanks, Sophiasmommy, I know exactly where that "square box" is. You're right. It's been through a lot of changes in a relatively short amount of time. I wish them luck.

Went there today when they opened at 11:00 am. Found a seat at 11:03, had menus at 11:15, ordered by 11:20, food was delivered at 11:59 am. I know, I know - but there was a clock RIGHT THERE on the wall (and I had hungry kids)

In my opinion the food was VERY salty, scanty portions, and the service was uncharacteristically slow (although, the waiter did say today was his first day). Attitudes and personalities were friendly and upbeat, and that goes a long way.

When we left there was a line out the door, 15 deep - and all tables were occupied.

Hope they can get the ball rolling, I'm all for local businesses thriving!
