We are going with the Dorchester. The Avalon and Dorchester were both my favorites. The Dorchester has larger rooms, and the laundry room upstairs, which is what made us go with that. The Avalon has some great features too though. We have a 2 story family room, but it does not have the "cat walk" like the Avalon does. I wish it did!!!

Liz,

The Dorchester does have the laundry room up, so you might want to look into it. It is scary about the chance of our house not selling, but if that does happen, we were told we would get all of our money back, because if that is the case, then our financing would fall though and that would be an automatic out for us. Hopefully that will not be the case, but we only have 1 month to get an offer and settle in less than 2 months!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully, they will give us an extension. They are not selling much faster there, then what we are going though. They should be a bit more understanding with this crazy market!

carolinadreamin,

Yes, our plan is to sell here in MD and move to an apartment in Simpsonville until our house is ready. I want so bad to find a teaching job there, so that will give me some time to look around and volunteer or sub. It all seems so crazy now, but once it happens we will be so glad we moved- I'm sure.

I hear ya!

If you're a practiced mover I guess it's no biggie but we don't move that often and when I just think about everything that needs to happen to get us from point a to point b I seriously need a nap! lol

We are going to be looking at that subdivision

Are you liking it? We are thinking about the Somerset - with some modificaitons for my handicapped parents. [I am a grandmother myself]

We currently have a Ryan home in Fort Mill but want to move nearer to my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids

Hi Grannynancy, I see you might build a Somerset. We have someone who bought a Somerset in our development (Coachman Plantation) and they just broke ground on it this past week. I'm excited to see how it looks as I have never seen this model before. I, too looked in Bennett's Grove but since there was no community pool or community area we chose Coachman. The lots are about the same size too as bennetts. Good luck on your choice of home. We just moved into our Avalon model and love it!!!
