Does anyone know of a good Chinese restaurant near Taylors off Wade Hampton?
I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't figure out how to do a search on here.

BRING BACK DOC CHEY'S - BRING BACK DOC CHEY'S - BRING BACK DOC CHEY'S
Are you listening Doc Chey's?
For those that don't remember, Doc Chey's closed its only SC location in early 2009 (it was located at The Point). The downtown Asheville location is always packed. I ate at the Virginia Highland location back in October and it was fantastic.
You can tell how good a place is by the number of Asian customers eating there. As far as Americanized general tso's sweet n' sour chicken restaurant quality goes, yea Lieu's is a step above the Chinese buffet.
But don't call it "good " Chinese cuisine. Call it "good" Chinese buffet a la carte.

It's not Chinese, but some of the best food I've had in the Upstate came from the kitchen at Mekong Restaurant on Wade Hampton. It's Vietnamese. During the growing season, they grow their own herbs out back.

At most Chinese restaurants in the states, Chinese customers are given an entirely different menu that has different food on it. What we think of as Chinese food would be hard to find in China or anywhere in Asia.
I have always referred to Chinese food in this area as Southern Fried Chinese Food. And I do agree that The MeKong is the best Aisan food around.
