Was with a friend who works at the Greenville County Animal Care offices on Furman Hall Dr. and she was telling me they are in desperate need of food for the dogs (and probably cats too) due to an intake of almost 150 dogs from a busted puppy mill:
If you are able to help in any way, whether it be by providing some dog food, or monetary donation, to be it bringing in some old towels and/or blankets, it would be greatly appreciated by those who work so hard to taking care of these animals.
TIA - thought this would be a great place to post this for the community to see, and to get some help for all involved.
Do you know if they have any drop boxes around the area in case others cannot make it to the shelter? If not, it would probably be a good idea to set some up in DT Greenville and places like Walmart. Either way, we will try and drop some food, blankets, and the like soon as we can!

No, not that I'm aware of, but I will ask. She was looking for some type of a basket to purchase just to put out somewhere for donations but found them to be a bit costly, and money she really doesn't have that would need to come out of her own pocket.
The puppy mill bust just added to the problem with the extra mouths to feed.
I will tell her about your offer to help. I know all will appreciate whatever anyone is able to do/contribute.
It would be really nice if they could advocate for our area grocery store's to place a bin for donations inside a number of stores. It's a long drive for me to go up there but I'd place something in a bin at the grocery store for them. Or they could get the schools involved. They love to gather donations for worthy causes.

I will tell my friend your suggestion. Maybe there are some local business owners on this forum who may be willing to accept donations at their business for them???
Saluda River pet stores have a drop location as are petcos in the area. I believe there are several others. If you really wanted to, you could call the shelter and ask.
