I consider the inspection to be a large part of the home buying process. Happy to have found a great home in Guilder Creek Farm.
Now which is best NACHI or ASHI.
I notice some inspectors have neither.
Any suggestions.
Thanks again
Go old school and get an inspector with a PE, preferably civil! Sure they will snub their nose and say they mostly inspect real houses built on the side of a mountain and none f that cookie cutter nonsense, but you'll be short $1k and up one real report!
I have no clue what nacho or ashi is, I assume a 2 week online inspector course.
We have used AmeriSpec several times in the past and been very pleased with the results. Regardless of who you choose, I would strongly recommend you meet the inspector at the house and walk through it with them. Look around yourself while you are there and ask questions. Make sure the inspector looks at all of the major systems and don't let them rush through the job.
I used Brickkicker earlier this year - great, thorough job. Agree with the above - highly recommend you walk with the inspector throughout the house - wear old clothes, bring a flashlight - expect the inspection to take several hours at a minimum.
I can recommend Bruce Neely at Elite Inspections, 864-268-8401. He is super super anal, exactly, what you are looking for in a home inspector. He checks everything! He did our home inspection in April this year.
