I bet it'd look nice there if they built a new hotel taller than all the other buildings in downtown to really help fill that need and have retail and maybe some temp apts on the lower levels.

This is obviously a long term concept that may change completely.

The Downtown market can support about another 200,000 rooms.

200,000? Or 200,000 room nights?

I'm just being sarcastic, Vegas is about the only city on the world along with Macau that can actually support that amount of rooms.

According to another story at that same website, the Greenville area had over a 10 percent increase in hotel room usage since January. That was twice the 4.7 to 5.6% increase for the state and national rates. The Greenville occupancy rate was 68%. That was only exceeded by Nashville. Savannah, and Charleston among similar markets.

Maybe these new projects might have a chance to work out.

Some of them will.
