During the winter months in New York it is totally dark by 4:30, where I live in Florida it gets darker about an hour later. What time does darkness set in in the Greenville area?

Visiting my parents in NY and between not seeing the sun for a week and the darkness by 4:30 I will be happy to return to Florida !

Default Thanks G-Man

Thanks G-Man. Still toying with the idea of moving to the Greenville area. I am happy to hear that it gets dark about the same time as Florida. That extra hour of daylight really makes a difference.

Thank you,
Fallgirl

Part of the reason is that both FL and Greenville are much further west. You'll notice that the sunrise is also later. I'm always surprised when I visit CT how early the sunrise is.

I know that Florida is further west and Greenville is as well. I thought that maybe Greenville would be even a little further west. Between not seeing the sun for a week and getting dark by 4:30 it was just a little too depressing for me.

Thanks,
Fallgirl

in new york between november and january sunset is about 4:20pm and it's dark by 4:45....down in asheville, nc (not far from greenville) where i have family, sunset during those same months is 5:20-5:30pm and it's still partially light at 6pm on xmas...in ny, we don't reach that point until early march a week or so before the daylight savings "spring ahead" date...
