Value Place hotel at Georgia Road Commons. There was an article in the Greenville News about it a few months ago. Also, here is information on what the development including the CVS will consist of: http://www.furmanco.com/pdfs/Mkt%20Pkg%20%20-%20W%20Georgia%20Rd%2010-06.pdf (broken link)
^^If you want something like Birkdale Village, you will have to go to Woodruff Road and visit Magnolia Park Town Center when complete. This development along West Georgia Road is just a strip center that will include retail, restaurants, and hotel. Nothing special.
I'm all for some QUALITY along W Georgia Road corridor. I live at the other end by Fork Shoals and know that there will be a really nice subdivision coming at Hammond...just a couple of blocks from Bloom's. We have a ton of quality subdivisions (I'm in real estate) in the area and Griffith Park development is helping to get the Fork Shoals corridor up and going with more "different" housing...although I am a bit perplexed about it...I'll reserve judgement.
I really think we deperately need a quality place around where Harrision Bridge Road is...all that land should have an upper end shopping place...maybe even a Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom quality mall....anyone out there with money? This end of Simpsonville has been growing like crazy and most of us hate going to Haywood Road....developers take notice!!! There IS taste out here!
You want a mall on Harrison Bridge Road? Oh, I really hope that doesn't happen. I really like driving up Fairview Road and seeing Target in the shadow of a farm. There is something quaint about it. Plus, from there it only takes 20 minutes to get to some nice shopping at Greenridge, maybe 25 minutes to Haywood.
Nordstrom will not locate anywhere in the state of South Carolina for at least another 10 years. They don't build malls anymore.
I'd love to see a Nordstrom here in Greenville.
