Default Getting to GSP in the Winter from Travelers Rest or Simpsonville

If you worked at GSP and had the choice of living in either Travelers Rest or Simpsonville, which would be a better commute? Would it be difficult to get to GSP from Travelers Rest in the Winter? (Ice/Snow) Are there safe back roads that one could take or a short cut?

Thanks,
Fallgirl

It really depends on the type of storm, but typically the further north you are means you'll be more likely affected in most cases. Fortunately we don't experience lots of bad winter weather, so you should be fine in either location. Keep in mind also that in areas where less direct sun exposure is able to reach the roads (foothills and mountains mostly), it will take longer to be clear of ice.

Bad winter weather is a rarity here. You have to worry more about the locals inability to make the proper decision that the weather itself.
