I just realized something the other day...

When I first moved her in the late 90's the entire upstate was crawling with BMW's. As I understood it, they were leased to the employees who worked there, and you could spot them by their tags.. I think they said either "MA" or "MS" ... or something.

But now I don't notice them... Does BMW not offer that as a benefit any longer?

They still do but the tags are no longer different, so you can't pick them out.

From several years' worth of experience; you can see lots of BMWs "racing" to the manufacturing plant on I-85N (between I-385 and Brockman McClimon Road or S.C. 101) in the morning, between 6 and 8 A.M.

They are still leasing, but only to BMW core employees which is shrinking in number. BMW is hiring mostly contractors who are not allowed in the program.

You can sometimes notice the leased BMW's by the older "palmetto sunrise" plate. And the vehicles will not have any dealer nameplate or vanity license plate frames.
