We need some large amounts of mulch for our backyard. Is there a good place to get them for cheap at bulk. Is unprocessed mulch risky due to termite infestation? Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I've bought it in bulk from Southern Mulch right next to 385 and was always happy with them. You can pull your truck or trailer up and a backhoe will drop in as much as you want.

I heard of free mulch as well. We already bought some but need so much that we were looking at free mulch service as well. Where they give away unprocessed mulch?

Look for tree trimers in your area and stop to tell them to come upload at your place. 2 years ago the tree contractor for Duke power was in the area, I ended up with about 100 loads of wood chips for free. I am slowly using them, what I dont use will eventually be some amazingly compost/soil.

Use Chipdrop. Arborists give it away for free and they will drop it off in your yard. Be warned it can be a lot of woodchips

Thanks for that info. How about termites in free mulch or wood chips?

There is a low risk of termites in the wood chips as they are normally chipped a few hours before landing at your house. Keep in mind almost any untreated wood in contact with the ground can attract termites from the area. The best recommendation is to leave a gap between wood chips and your house. Termites can not survive direct sunlight.
