Does anyone know of a family campground within 1 hour from Greenville? I am looking for tent/cabin sites with children activities and such.

I've driven around Lakes Keowee and Jocassee and have seen campgrounds. Each of these lakes is 45 min to an hour from Greenville. Extremely beautiful areas up there!!!!

Smile Great family campground

There is a wonderful family campground less than an hour from Greenville. It's Foothills Family Campground in Forest City, NC. Their website is www.foothillsfamilycampground.com They have a playground, pool, lots of activities during camping season, nice size sites and best of all it's family owned and operated. The owners live on site and treat everyone like family.

Default Campsites

I used to do a lot of camping around Greenville as a kid and I have a couple favorites. Jones Gap is very fun, you can swim in the CLEAN river, feed the fish at the fishery, hike on the trails and enjoy their nice campsite. Kings Mountain is about an hour out but it is worth it. They have great camp sites, great hiking and an awesome welcome/history center. Lake Jocassee is fun if you have access to a boat, if not you better know how to fish, cause that is about all there is there. Really Pickens County and Cherokee County, is just loaded with camping, hiking, boating and fishing. I hope I helped, good luck.
