AT&T is rumored to be bringing U-verse to the area later this year. They have displays in the AT&T retail stores advertising it so that might say something as to it coming soon however they still can't give any solid dates when it will be available. There weren't able to tell me what parts of Greenville will receive it first either or how far out it will go.

Charter is the only cable choice except that AT&T Uverse is expanding to the area but has been delayed and therefore Uverse coverage will be spotty. AT&T, Charter are home phone providers unless you want to go with Vonage or another VOIP provider.

I had Comcast in Chicago before we moved and I will warn you that Charter does not live up to Comcast's high standards.

It's a package they're slowly rolling out to bring TV and Voice over IP to compete with Cable and Sat for TV as well as VoIP companies like Vonage and the like.

AT&T will be bringing U-Verse to the area around 85. It does not include Simpsonville however. Something to do with the phone lines not being owned by AT&T. See today's Greenville News article.

Charter likes to wait until a new development is almost complete until it goes into the neighborhood. And IMO once you try DirectTV there's no going back to Charter. The picture quality is far superior to Charter, and they have many more HD channels. With large sections of Simpsonville being newer that is probably why you see so many dishes. Unfortunately there is no internet service available that comes close to Charter as far as speed goes. When Charter finally decides to service my neighborhood I'll get the internet but not the TV. Funny thing is that I would probably never tried DirectTV now Charter lost a customer forever. Not a very smart move on their part forcing potential customers to sample the competition... Can you say bankrupt....
