I see. I still don't think they want it though.

Great addition to the cultural center, but I don't know how I feel about this use of the building.

Mauldin City Council approves transformation of Log Cabin for new Ice Cream Station

Mauldin residents will soon have a new place to escape the summer heat on the Mauldin Cultural Center campus. On Tuesday, City Council approved a lease to allow the successful Ice Cream Station of Simpsonville to open their second location in the Log Cabin on the Cultural Center campus. The cabin will undergo moderate renovation to accommodate its first residents in decades.

Default Hwy 55

The place is cute with its 50s style diner look, but we were not impressed with the food and found it super annoying a waitress stopped by the table every few minutes to ask if we needed anything, wanted a drink refill or were ready for our checks.

There are a variety of toppings available for your burger, but they skimped on the amount of them. I had asked for grilled mushrooms and onions. They put the mushrooms on one side of the bun and the onions under the burger on the other side.

I thought it was great that you get a half/half order of fries and onion rings. The fries were basic crinkle cut fries with little flavor, and the onion rings were not good.

We didn't try a shake, and I wasn't sure how much three scoops of frozen custard would be, so I ordered two scoops of custard in a cup and paid 50 cents extra for a topping. It turned out that a scoop isn't that big.

Aside from the unimpressive food, the noise level was very high. We both agreed we likely wouldn't go back.
Yes, my husband and I agree on that. We had hoped for a new nearby option for quick take out but that is not likely to happen. Too expensive and not all that impressed with the food. Maybe we can try out a shrimp Po Boy or something like that a few months down the road. Wish we could get some better (healthier) options in the blocks where Greenville ends and Taylors starts along Wade Hampton Blvd. Five Guys and/or Fuddruckers are better choices.

Southern Catch on Fairview.. It's SUCH a total hole in the wall place, but it's dang good.
