As an FFL dealer, all this week I have looked into the current availability of most Hi-Cap mags, and it's not so easy right now, because I honestly think these mags WILL truly become "The Tool of Satan's Evil™ Forces!" After all, it's CERTAINLY not transient psychotic reality breaks coming from mentally unstable teens and 20s types!

But I was able, just FYI, to purchase some side-angle-stacking (better than the single-stack Ruger design by a long shot..) Alpha Industries 15 rounders for my leftie Ruger GSR Scout rifle. Also, Ruger themselves sells new poly-plastic 3, 5 and 10 rounders. Order some of those as well.

A great American manufacturer, and he makes mags for a wide variety of bolt guns!

Alpha Industries Manufacturing

Seems that Ruger Scout rifle, being a bolt gun and all, will not be under such micro-scrutiny. One hopes.

Apparently Pmags have sold out of a usually 3.5 year supply in just 1 week for .223. Flippin crazy. I saw them going for as high as 100 dollars a mag on various sites.

I hear that there are already some 24 million of these in private hands. Lotsa luck closing the gate after 24 million horses have left the barn.

I guess I lucked out. I bought my Bushmaster Carbine with a Bull Barrel when $750. was an outragious price. Same day, I bought enough 30 rnd mags to last me a lifetime. I also picked up several 1000 rnd cans of ammo for $105. a can. I think I beat the rush (by about 10 years).

I haven't even been into town to see what the local stores are doing. My son was in our largest dealer the other day and he told me there was only 5 or 6 people in there, but all of them were looking at AR types.

Heh heh. I just bought a Colt 6920 on Saturday for 1183.00 out the door. One of the exact same guns just sold online for 3,025.00. The one I bought was in the store for all of five minutes before I bought it, and it was the only on they got out of six ordered. Ordered 50 Pmags from Brownell's early last week though, and was informed they were out of stock, one day AFTER getting a confirmation email stating that they were in stock. Win some, lose some....

I recently acquired an AR and an AK, and didn't do too bad on them price-wise, considering. I paid just a little over MSRP for them. Managed to find some mags for the AK online (at proper prices, even), but can't find ANYTHING for the AR that holds more than 5-10 rounds and is in stock. It's insane.

Feinsten is introducing her new anti-freedom bill early next month, and I have no doubt that it'll sail through with few changes, which means that we only have a month or two to stock up.

Also can't find any .223 ammo that's not outrageously priced, which means that I can't even take the new AR to the range!

My wife has said that she will be taking over our ammunition acquisition program, as every time we go somewhere and she wants to buy ammo, I tell her it is outrageous, I used to buy it for a third of that, blah, blah, blah... She came home from work the other day with 250 rds. of 9mm that she got for less than 12 bucks a box. I shrugged, and thought, " I remember buying that stuff for $105/1000". Then when I went Saturday and got that AR, I saw Remington 9mm FMJ at Walmart for 39.99 for a box of 50! I think I am over the nostalgic refusal to buy ammo at 12 bucks a box....

I don't know how this whole thing is going to play out, but I guarantee you every AR, PMag, and ammo manufacturing facility on the planet is pegged on 100% capacity right now. At least Obama managed to stimulate part of the economy.

Very interesting. I was at Cabellas on Friday just browsing and stumbled on WWB 9mm for $13 for 50, .38 was $16 for 50 and .357 was $18.

Prices haven't moves a cent around here. The store was packed though.

Yep, I was in town for less than 24 hours for Christmas, but seeing that I took 90 P-mags out of storage and gave them to a buddy to sell for me.

Crazy... All the people who have been ignoring the warnings since 2004...
