I have one I bought about a year ago and have never fired. If I can get that kind of money for it, maybe I should sell it... And the four BX25 mags I got should be worth a small fortune!

I intended to get an SW M&P 15-22(Found it for the same price I saw it last year, $449), but with all the talk about banning AR style rifles I thought I should look for a Ruger 10/22 instead. Went to five stores, three local gun shops and two Dick's, all were sold out and didn't know when they'd get any Ruger's in(The third local shop said they were supposed to have already received a shipment but that it hadn't come in, thought he should get them in March).

According to Dick's and Academy's website the prices for Rugers are the same, don't know if they'd go up for local shops.

Hope you have ammo too.

For $350 you should be able to buy the break down model. 10/22 will be available just about anywhere. Here is a mailer I just got today.

I don't know what it is about the break down model but it does not sell as well. I have seen them in gun shops that had a run on the regular model 10/22 and have a waiting list. My local walmart said that they have a list that she calls when they come in. She can't hold them but if they get there they can get in line. So even when they trickle in they are gone in a matter of min.

I happened to be at the local gun shop yesterday and they had about 6 of them in varios shapes and sizes. they ranged from $225 up to about $450, depending on what you wanted.

Side note. I also found it refreshing that there were two store clerks and only two customers, myself and a young couple buying a new shotgun. He was excited that she was letting him pick out a new shotgun for his anniversary present. (That's my kind of wife!)

I can buy the NIB wood stock blued standard Ruger fresh from the factory that the seller bought two of for 350 no tax or transfer. I think thats a bit high but its hard to find any that are not either beat up or used for the 250 and under.

Is he going to teach her to fire it into the air and through doors in the federal government recommended fashion?

Great little gun.

I bought one close to 30 years ago at a gunshow new for about $125-150 and put thousands of rounds through it. Nothing say merry christmas like a brick of .22 under the tree.

I was about 13 at the time and had saved up my mowing money, odd jobs, birthday money and whatnot.

Still shoots like a champ.
