No, this thread is discussing products that were built during the assault weapon ban that were banned for civilian use. They were produced for LEO or Military use only, and therefore had special markings.

There is no mechanical difference between them and items produced pre-ban or post-ban.

Some people are willing to pay extra for such things. Like paying extra for a "50th Anniversary" edition of a gun, or a "Signed by Ted Nugent" bullets.

I have a bunch of those "restricted" marked mags, as well. I treat them the same as the ones that don't have it. Just another AR mag. I see those marked lowers the same way. Nothing special. I don't really believe the snazzy , billet, lowers and uppers from the high end makers , like Wilson or Ed Brown, are worth the price tag, either.

My milspec upper/lower combo , I built, shoots just as well as my buddys Wilson, at ranges past 300 yards, with any given ammo, I just didn't pay 2 grand for my build. Far from it. Often enough, paying for a name, or "special" markings gains nothing. Its a collector morethan a shooter thing.

I would buy them if they were cheap but I would not pay any more than the going rate. I really don't think they will ever bring in any money because of the LE marks.
