1. White tail, Mule deer, elk, antelope, upland birds, waterfowl, some small game.
2. Sustainable, non farmed meat. Enjoy out doors
3. Maybe 10
4. Many unique and fun stories
1. Coyotes, upland game, waterfowl, and I bowfish carp.
2. Coyotes - State pays $50 bounty for each one killed
Upland game and waterfowl - Food
Bowfish - Recreation and to aid in the destruction of an invasive species.
3. 25 years old
4. Through a 60x spotting scope, I saw a guy dressed in a mountain goat costume sitting on the side of a mountain one time. The guy had to have been an experienced climber because he was in a tough to reach location.

So I am not a hunter and nobody in my family was but I'm not judgy about it.
I'm curious:
1. What do you hunt Deer, upland game, ducks
2. Why do you do it? (sport/food/etc) For meat from the deer. I enjoy the whole process. It also makes me much more conscientious about eating meat in general when you've had the whole process under your control, the blood literally on your hands. My wife loves venison and wants me to take a couple deer each year.
I enjoy working with my dog hunting upland and ducks. Bird hunting is more about the sport than the meat; its closer to fishing, if that makes sense to you? I still eat the birds and enjoy it, but its a different experience
3. How old when you first started 15. My dad didn't hunt but we did shoot bow-and-arrows together, so I started bowhunting. I went to bird hunting when I was in college.
4. Ever had a unique experience while hunting Lots of them. The most enlightening times have been those that have shown me that nature isn't "friendly" place, at all, and that things are extremely random. If you've seen a coyote go after a baby deer, if you've seen ducks mating, if you've seen coyotes approach your kill, with a certain disregard for your presence, it is both humbling and can change your outlook on a lot of things
Responses are in bold. I also like the camradery with certain hunting partners, knowing where my food came from, etc...

I'm curious:
1. What do you hunt..... deer with traditional archery gear
2. Why do you do it? (sport/food/etc)....... lifestyle, link to paleo ancestors... not as a sport, make buckskin and delicious, healthy food. the essence of hunting is sharing the food.
3. How old when you first started... on a juvenile license at age 13, archery much earlier.
4. Ever had a unique experience while hunting
... I write about them and document with photographs .. TNTC- too numerous to count. hunting for deer is a very tiny fraction of time spent out of doors and on the water observing 'nature' and harvesting wild foods.
