Does anyone live in or know about this area of Virginia Beach?

Is this a good place to rent an apartment if you want to be close to the ocean and away from the touristy area?

Thanks for your responses

---also, what is the jet noise like in that area??

Yepper and if there'd had been homes for sale 2 years ago over at Chicks, I would have purchased one in a heartbeat! One of my favorite areas to hang at the beach!

I have a second home on Chick's Beach and love the area. It's definately a great beach for locals, away from the strip. There is no jet noise. That's one of the reasons we chose the area. I don't know anything about rentals, my building doesn't allow them.

Chicks Beach Cafe has great food. When we go for a day at the beach, we always have breakfast there.

I love Sunday morning breakfast at Bubba's. I wish I was there now, having a crab and cheese omelet and a mimosa. Never been to Chick's Beach Cafe. Do they have breakfast every day, or only weekends?

Ah Chicks Beach Cafe is like a neighborhood cafe place where their food is just down home good. I've had their seafood platters, spouse had the prime rib and ya just can't say enough about it. The breakfast is every morning in the summer. We had friends visiting from Texas and we brought them there. Ate out on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine. Bubba's is great too. Once in awhile we'll have breakfast when we go out on the head boats fishing.

Chicks Beach Restaurants, Rentals, Locals Beach Rentals, Virginia Beach, VA 23455

Just updated in April, they may have renamed it, but those of us who know it as Chicks Beach Cafe, still call it that. Old habits are hard to break, but I do like the CBC name better. :-)

What I call Chicks Beach (proper) is technically Chesapeake Beach, the area around the CB bridge tunnel. Many people (locals and non locals alike) call the entire stretch from Cape Henry to Little Creek Amphib Base, Chicks Beach.

I live in Cape Story By the Sea, east of the Lynnhaven Inlet. I would not live anywhere in VB other than off of Shore Drive.

-If talking restaurants in Chicks Beach, you have to mention Zia Marie.

A little O/T, I know, but has anyone been to brunch at Tradewinds (at VA Beach Resort Hotel)? We have reservations there for Mothers Day, but it's not too late to change. Catch 31's Mothers Day brunch looks excellent, but Tradewinds is a lot closer to our place.
