Ok, so I just arrived in Norfolk/VB and I am desperatly wanting to go out jogging, any good/safe places to go for a jog? I would like a place that has a track or trail that has the distance marked. I am not a big fan of running on the streets, a park or even a track at a rec field would be fine. Thanks!

Mount Trashmore has a 2 mile jogging/walking area and there are people doing just that at 5am when I drive thru the park. I like to go now and then after work, depending on the weather.

I was just about to recommend Mount Trashmore, too! I haven't gone lately because of school, but I love jogging there.

The boardwalk, General Booth Blvd, and Dam Neck Rd. are places I see lots of joggers.

Most middle/high schools in both cities have running tracks but you would be limited to before and after school hours and then you would have to work around any school events and still might have issues with the local law enforcement officers depending on the time of day but I think that would be a rare. As stated before I think the boardwalk and Mount Trashmore would be your best bet...there are several running/jogging clubs in the area so you might want to check them out as they would know all of the best places plus you would find a large number of people with the same interest so finding running partners would be easy.

I never knew about this mapmyrun website! As soon as I brought it up, it already listed several nearby run routes for my location.

Is anyone else running the Mount Trashmore Turkey Trot 10K on Thanksgiving day? I ran it last year, but I might run the Toys for Tots 5K or 10K up on the peninsula this year.
