Cops generally don't pay attention to SUVs when it comes to tint. You will probably get away with darker front windows in an SUV than a car.

50% isn't very dark but 35% will suffice for most people. As I said, I have 20% all around on my vehicle but we don't have state inspections in Florida...although I wish they did with some of the scary vehicles running around.

I've read that the state inspection checks for the windshield only. Is it true? Or do they actually check the windows too? I am a VA resident.

I have 35% all around. 50% is not worth getting.I moved here in November and still need to get my car inspected. My girlfriend has 35% on her car and she passed inspection. I plan on going to the same place.

It depends on who is performing the inspection. If they notice it, the will check it.

I was coming back from diving out at the Lake Rawlings Quarry (Route 58) and a trooper pulled me over and busted out a light meter. Just wanted to check, said it looked dark. My stuff is 100% legal, but it was a wake up call. I wouldn't risk going 35% on the front windows. Even though front windows are different from rear, I never notice it.
