Hey everyone, Yes I have decided to make the big move from New Zealand to settle or i mean have a go at life in Hawaii. I do not know anyone there and am hoping to make some good true friends before I make my big move. Can anyone give me some advise on how life is over there. I am worried about being robbed and stuff, also am still trying to get a place to stay. Any help would be great.

if you are living in a nice neighborhood in kona i think youll be ok. I would say the best way to meet people would be to go to a little coffee shop. There is alot of tourist in that area so it might be hard to make friends but i wish you the best of luck.

Hi Tarla,

If you live in Kona and are in town, you will have the opportunity to meet lots of people. Probably many will be visitors and tourists, but, with time, you will find friends who are residents and long-term contacts as well!

Good luck on your move and welcome to the Big Island!

With aloha,

Cynthia
