We are planning to honeymoon in Hawaii in March-May of 2010.

I was looking for a little help before I book my trip, I want to book it early since I am using my hotel employee discount.

First, we are looking for advice on some of the hotels we are considering:

1. Moana Surfrider Westin on Waikiki Beach ($139/night)
2. The Royal Hawaiia on Waikiki Beach ($99/night)
3. The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas ($89/night)

I might have a few other choices, but these are 3 we found so far. We want a relaxing honeymoon, spending most of the day on the beach sipping on drinks and snorkeling/diving/swimming and then going out at night. We also want to take inland excursions, see some waterfalls (I have heard of a few awesome spots for cliff jumping?) and maybe see some wildlife or volcanoes?

We are wanting to do a lot of water activites, such as snorkeling and renting jet-skis to ride out on the water. How much should I expect to pay for these acvitives ?

Any other advice or tips would be great!

The activities can be expensive. I don't believe you can rent jet skis in HI, due to the environmental restrictions. Ocean kayaking is quite popular. The Royal Hawaiian is a good choice. The weather in Princeville can be quite rainy so you might want to consider a hotel in Poipu.

I second the rec for the Royal Hawaiian, if romance is what you're looking for.

And I see jet skis in Hawaii Kai all the time, FWIW. Nothing in or around Waikiki, but the folks at the Royal Hawaiian might be able to hook you up with rentals & transportation.

Yes, there are a lot of jet-skis in Hawaii Kai and have been forever. To jet ski go to Koko Marina shopping center (there are at least three places that rent water rec equipment located there; at least there were two months ago which was the last time we were there!).

The Moana Surfrider and the Royal Hawaiian are the two oldest hotels in Waikiki and they are pretty spectacular (the architecture). I have NOT been in the 'new' tower at the Royal Hawaiian but the accomodations in the hotel 'proper' are very nice and the service at both locations is very warm and professional (an the beach front is lovely). The prices that you quoted seem VERY low to me, so I am assuming that this is not for an ocean view suite; but regardless they are nice hotels.

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and I wish you a long and happy life together.
