Just curious, because if it doesn't, the healthy high-income purchasers who are seeing big premium hikes might gravitate to that type of insurance.

Insurance companies now must include coverage for pre-existing conditions.

And effectively insurance companies cannot use prejudicial pricing to make insurance unaffordable for those with preexisting conditions either. (This is the main reason why fairness demands the Individual Mandate.)

They cannot turn you down from signing up because of your pre-existing condition but what they can do now is deny any service they deem unnecessary.

What this means is they will take your money but don't have to provide you anything for it, isn't it wonderful?

That is not new--insurance plans have always denied coverage for unnecessary procedures....you can't just go get a knee replacement because you want one for example.
