I pay for my own health insurance and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield right now (individual plan coming off a group). I pay $300 a month but Kaiser is offering a better plan for $225 a month AND will cover drug and vision which I don't have. (Yeah, what a bargain I have)
Unfortunately, if I apply to Kaiser it will go thru underwriting and I may not get in because I have had health issues.
My question to you is: Which is better?
Also, is Kaiser hard to get in if you have had health issues? I don't have any now, but they may be considered long-term issues (asthma for example).
Do you have an insurance broker you are working with? You need someone to sit down with you and compare each one side by side. Just because it is cheaper monthly, does not mean that it is a better benefit. Look at your copays, deductibles, Rx etc.
