[quote=BarryMB;19233113]Probably a keurig machine and k-cups - don't think it's cheap, though...

Single Cup Coffee & Brewers - Keurig.com

I love love love my Keurig single serve coffee maker! There are many brands and kinds of k-cups. It heats up quickly, less than 4 minutes. It is the quickest, best, most convenient way to make coffee! They now also make a small filter for it to grind your own beans if you want to so it's not as expensive. But you can't beat the convenience and simplicity of the k- cups. I highly recommend it if you're just interested in one cup a day.

I used to absolutely hate the idea of instant coffee. I thought I HAD to have brewed coffee from high quality beans that were freshly ground. I really like strong coffee.

When I would visit my parents, they were brewing the weakest coffee I had ever seen. It reminded me of the Peanuts cartoon where Linus makes Lucy a hot chocolate by putting a brown crayon in a cup of hot water.

I knew I couldn't drink that coffee but felt I had no other choice when I was there. I couldn't brew my own and couldn't go out for coffee. So I bought a few of the Starbucks VIA instant coffee packets and when they weren't looking, I poured a packet into the cup of super weak coffee.

It was amazing. I couldn't believe instant coffee could taste like that. In fact, it is better than the Starbucks coffee I was brewing in my own coffee maker from freshly ground beans.

So now all I buy is the Starbucks VIA packets. And all I have to do in the morning is heat hot water. So easy and so good. It can't hurt to try it before you buy a machine. If you don't have a Starbucks near you, you can buy them from Amazon. In the store they are approx $1 for each packet but from Amazon you can get 50 packets for $35.
