Here is a link to an interview with Dr Ray Strand, author of a book titled: Death By Prescription. The quote below comes from the interview.
Well, I have been in the practice for 31 years of my medical career and I think all physicians appreciate the inherent risks all drugs present to their patient. We are always weighing the risk of medication, or the risk of adverse drug reactions, to the health benefits they can obtain. So what really got my attention was an article written in The Journal of American Medical Association back in 1998, in which they showed that properly prescribed medication, prescribed and taken properly, is the fourthleading cause of death in the country. Then, when you add the improperly prescribed medications to this that are not taken properly, that is another 80,000 deaths, making it the third-leading cause of death. Yet, no one in this country is talking about it. We don’t even keep statistics on it.....Dr. Ray Strand
The good doctor makes many references to his book in the interview, so if you are offended by salesmanship, you may want to skip the interview. IMO, a little bit of salesmanship was worth putting up with in exchange for the information he provides.

Franco. You realize don't you that Truth in Publishing = Newstarget = Mike Adams right?
Having learned this I now take anything from those sources with a grain of salt. He's just recycling info that has been around for years and trying to make money off of it.

Yeah I know, but I don't have a problem with his efforts to make money. I support his efforts to get this info out there, even if it's nothing new under the sun. To many readers of this forum it will be the first time they have come across this information and reading it doesn't cost them a single penny.
IMO, it's a good practice in general to take ALL information with a grain of salt. Regardless of the source, if something doesn't resonate with you...throw it out...and keep the part that does resonate.
I do not believe any person can be to informed. It's up to each individual to learn what they can from it. I personally agree with many articles in News Target. That's me personally. I just want to know all the angles. I don't necessairly always agree but neither do I always agree with some of the other information published by other sources. Besides, I agree and like the News Targets humor/cartoons!!
Here's another article somewhat related to the one I posted at the top of the thread. This article from Life Extension Magazine is entitled, Death By Medicine.
I agree with cynwldkat that it is up to each individual to learn whatever we can by exposing ourselves to information from a variety of sources and viewpoints whether we agree with those viewpoints or not. We can never be too informed.
