I've been up all night with a very upset stomach and symptoms like i have the stomach virus but earlier today i went to the doctor and they said i had strep throat.. Are these symptoms of it?

Anyone I've ever known who was diagnosed with strep throat had a seriously soooore throat...if your throats not REALLY sore I can't understand how the diagnosis of strep was made...I agree with YOUR diagnosis more than I do the docs.
I've had strep throat twice (many years ago) and the main symptom was an incredibly sore throat...to the point where it was almost impossible to swallow.

The diagnosis comes from the lab test of the throat swab. I once got dizzy and almost fainted one day when I was at the gym. Went to the doctor because it scared me. I had strep throat and no sore throat at all. One person can actually walk around with a good immune system and these strep germs and give it to someone else and they get sick when the carrier never gets down sick. Or so a doctor told my sil.
I am glad you got medical help because strep can cause heart problems if not treated and it turns into scarlet fever.
When I was in elementary school I used to get strep about once a year and my fever would hit the ceiling. When that happens it can really upset the stomach.
Usually a fever and extremely sore throat with white spots...
I know children can get stomach aches and vomiting with strep too, but not sure how common it is in adults.
Did they do a strep test at the doctor's? Those are generally pretty accurate. Also with a stomach virus you would likely be vomiting/ having diarrhea repeatedly for 24-48 hours, if you don't it's likely not it.
Strep throat feels like razor blades. If your doctor did throat swab and it came back positive, you've got strep throat. They can usually tell by just looking at it without even doing a test. You could have more than one thing at a time. You could have strep throat AND an intestinal virus. Strep needs antibiotics. If you're taking them, you should feel better very soon.
updating this thread- it feels to me like rocks in my throat and i have white spots on my throat with body aches and fever. I was given the good 'ole pink juice for an antibiotic.
