As I posted previously, this was my experience exactly. My eyesight was so blurry for two weeks afterward that I had to take an unscheduled 10 days' vacation from work. And I had headaches for six months afterward. But, when it all clears up, you'll be so happy you had it done.

I think its been like almost a month now since its blurry.. He said time will heal it.. He said for the headaches just take pain meds. I cant even read without getting a headache.. I read with an eye patch sometimes but he told dont do that.. let my eyes adjust.

Did you have one adjusted for reading and one for distance?

In the meantime cover the eye that is giving you problems. It will stop the headaches and allow you to read and stuff.

No.. I just had an astigmatism in both eyes. However I went to get my eyes checked with them and according to them I have no astigmatism and no nearsightedness, however my right eye is so blurry.. I did my lasik august 14. It makes me nauseous and gives me horrible headaches.. If I cover one eye I cant even see words.. everything is fuzzy. They told me it could be the eye is healing.. I do have +0.50 in my right eye. But they said that will go away.. It just sucks because I had to leave school because I cant even study anymore because i cant see .. and looking at words on the board is just as much as a nightmare.

My eye doctor suggested LASIK to me. Horror stories like this one is why I said no. Glasses aren't that bad.

So i went to see them at lasik today. The surgeon told its normal still after one month i cannot see words clearly from my right eye. He said i still have swelling under my cornea. He said my eyes are healing well, i just have swelling under my right cornea and its dry. They gave me the prescription test. And even with that prescription.. I still could not see the words. They said i should be able to read and not have nausea from the difference of visions in another month. What do you think? He said start using restasis and put gel in eyes before bed every night.

If you've had no improvement at all, you should go see a different opthamologist for a second opinion. It is possible that you swell up a lot like I do after any surgery, but another doctor could give you an unbiased opinion. My corneas were swollen for almost two weeks after my lasik but a month sounds like too long a time.

I have dry eyes too and was told to use eye drops but I never did. I still have dry eyes but they dont affect my eyesight or comfort at all.

May I ask if you went to one of those discount lasik places? My lasik cost $5,000 11 years ago and was done by a very well-respected surgeon. I'd never have gone to one of those doc-in-a-box places that advertises $200 per eye.

Ask your doctor for a "bandage contact lens" for that eye only.

I had Lasik in 2000, (age 41) and ended up with corneal edema in my left eye, (which was my dominant eye). My prescription was -4.25 both eyes, and -1.75 astigmatism. It took two YEARS (well, 20 months) for my left eye to heal. Walking into a room with florescent lights was like walking into a cloud.

It only finally healed after I used a bandage contact lens for a few weeks. The surface tension of the lens, sucked the remaining edema out of the eye.

I ended up with UN-intended monovision, and a switch of dominant eyes. I also now have very dry eyes, and still use eye drops to this day. Turned out that the monovision is a good thing at my age. But, it takes getting used to, and really screws with your sense of balance for a while. Also, your dominant eye isn't normally the one that ends up slightly under corrected with planned monovision.

Wow, for $7,000 you must have had good doctors. I still think it would be beneficial to get a 2nd opinion. A month sounds like a long time for the swelling to go down, unless you've had swelling issues with previous surgeries on other parts of your body.

So I went for a second opinion and the surgeon told me the swelling is little left. And I have dry eyes.. He saw I was using systan Ultra but with preservatives, he told me this will make vision worse because it drys eyes more.

Anyway the surgeon who did the surgery was dr Dahger, its a women she used to be a corneal specialist
