I don't believe in the flu shots!
I know too many people who got it in the past and still got sick while most that did not get it are fine...
Pharmaceutical companies are trillions dollar business with most powerful marketing and lobbying...draw your own conclusion, don't be brainwashed like many other there...
The less medication the better we are, most relatives made it over 90's with almost no pills.
I use the neti pot during flu season, wash my hands a lot and try staying away from sick people. If I have to see someone sick w/ the flu where I work (in their apartment) I wear a mask. I think for people w/ serious heart/lung problems, they probably should get one. Also, over 65, the flu shot is not that effective if you read the recent studies.
My dr told me since I had such a bad reaction a couple of years ago he told me to no longer take a flu shot and just to use a mask and wash my hands a lot . I mean washing hands can cut down on a lot of germs indeed . So was just wondering if any one else had a bad reaction to the flu shot in past years and has just decided not to take one this year or ever again ?
I haven't had one in over 15 years and have yet to get the flu since then. I used to get an allergic flu like reaction that would last one week every year I got the shot (and even ended up getting the flu still every so often). I stopped taking it and haven't had the flu since.
Fact is... The flu shot is not scientifically validated to show any real value. It isn't like vaccines which have a history of results.
If I recall her comment was in regard to someone saying they have had the flu 10 times.
Nope...This was the comment I responded to....
"5% to 20% of the US population gets the flu in any given year. Maybe rare" was a poor choice of a word on my part but the chances of getting the flu, with or without the vaccine are still pretty low."
Not sure how anyone thinks a 5-20% rate of infection is "low"....
Well I do know how people think that actually.....lack of knowledge on a given subject that they are trying to sound knowledgeable about...
I've believed for some time about Wiki and it's slant toward pharma.
No one cares about "reviews"....this isn't the Alternative Forum where "anything goes"
Boiron Oscillococcinum is alternative nonsense....
Homeopathy is pure nonsense
Oscillococcinum shouldn't even work if one DID believe in homeopathy because it isn't even a CAUSE of Flu
A French physician discovered oscillococcinum while investigating the Spanish flu in 1917. But he was mistaken that his "oscillococci" were the cause of the flu.
Any beneficial effects are controversial and cannot be explained by current scientific methods.

No thanks. While I might buy a toaster or a garden hose based on Amazon reviews, I look to sites with peer reviewed studies when making medical decisions.
