Yes you read that correctly. Not half a cup, but an actual half of the watermelon. I usually eat it for breakfast this time of year and its quite filling. Is there anything wrong with this?
Watermelon is a nutritious fruit.
Having high blood sugar levels, especially for an extended period of time, can damage your blood vessels and increase your risk for kidney disease, heart disease, stroke and nerve and vision problems. Watermelon provides you with a number of essential nutrients, including vitamins A and C, but eating watermelon can cause an increase in your blood sugar levels, so diabetics need to take care. Ok what about non-diabetics and you never said whether eating half a watermelon a day was bad for a person to eat or not, especially if it's considered a meal (breakfast)
I would look online as there may be articles that will help you best determine the safety of it for yourself. I used to do this and had pronounced foot tingling thereafter.
I already had foot issues but the watermelon added insult to injury...
So my advice is to look into it more deeply before getting someone's blessing to do something that might change your health.

From the USDA website, half of a watermelon (15 inches long and 7.5 inches in diameter) contains 678 calories, 170 g carbs, 9 g fiber, 13 g protein, and 3 g fat.
Therefore, I would never eat that for breakfast. That would be 1/2 my daily calories, way too many carbs, and insufficient protein.
I buy some now and then but would never think of 1/2 watermelon...as said above high sugar. One doesn't want to get to the diabetic point so a little bit of what they like...not going wild.
One SLICE has 18 grams of sugar, so that would be half of my daily intake..... a slice.

Geez, I've eaten a good-sized watermelon and half in one day, at least twice, plus other food!
At least a half a day was the norm, and thanks to combining the info I've several learned from several food shows on picking the and crispest and sweetest, no wonder why my sugar must have been way up.
Bought a small watermelon the other day for a salad idea i wanted to try
Half a small watermelon cubed
packet of blue cheese cubed
Bunch of fresh mint chopped
Some green onions
a drizzling of balsamic vinegar.
Raised my Blood sugar levels due to the high sugar content but it was very good.
