Pretty frustrated here. On Day 8 of dealing with terrible congestion in my sinuses and bronchial passages. I feel I'm constantly sloughing off mucus in my lungs. I'm past the stage of feeling like I was run over by a truck, but I do feel short of breath and constantly coughing up junk (clear snot). When I exhale I hear a course, junky rattly sound.

I've been on amoxicillin, a 7 day run of Prednisone (still on), Zyrtec D, Advair. Nothing seems to be making a dent in this inflammation I feel in my chest. I've had respiratory infections before, but after a horrible bout with Pneumonia back in 2014, I'm always leary of what will happen. It took me several months to heal up from that bout.

If anyone has had any experience with this junk, how long did it take to clear up? I had planned on a long hike in Maine in 5-6 weeks from now. As of now, it looks kinda iffy.

I've had bronchitis a number of times - and unfortunately it just seems like a long slog for the most part.

Recently, however, I had some chronic congestion -- went through several tissues each morning - it was ridiculous!! Well, hubbin had a sciatic flare-up and was trying Relief Factor - with marked 'relief' (it works on inflammation in 4 ways) -- so I decided to try some. Could not believe that within 1 or 2 doses my congestion was cut by about 80%!! I'm taking it off and on still, as I have general inflammation issues - and my congestion has not returned lately -- at all.

I think it may definitely be worth a try. They have a starter pack that is around $20 - but they do "auto ship" afterward. However, because I did initially cancel auto-ship (because I hate auto-ship) but then I needed to re-order, I found out that 1) the auto-ship can be set to any duration preferred, and 2) there was a $15 difference in ordering a single order when not on auto-ship, and being signed up for auto-ship - so I guess I can deal with it that way.

Meanwhile, we have shared it with several people, mostly with misc. aches and pains, and most have noticed a positive difference - with one dose - but sharing it so much - now I need to re-order again!!!

I just had a bout that lasted a couple weeks. Just took guaifessan and OTC cough syrup. Ran a fever for a few days. Was just ready to go to the doctor when I started to feel better. I'm on immune suppressors and this seems to be what I get about twice a year. I did a lot of nasal irrigation too.

Usually 1-2 weeks or less.

If you still have it in 5-6 weeks you're moving more toward chronic bronchitis. Clinically that's bronchitis that lasts for three months or longer for two years but it's not like it's really any different after it meets that two-year clinical threshold. The point is from chronic bronchitis the recommendations are the opposite and rather than rest they encourage you to get regular exercise. I had moderate to very severe COPD as a kid and still played team sports and did what normal kids do, just hacked up some phlegm and snorted corticosteroids and bronchidilators off and on and during flareups couldn't really do much since I didn't have much lung capacity, not that dissimilar from a kid with more severe exercise-induced asthma.

I just looked at the Relief Factor 3 week deal, and then they add you will be sent automatically monthly to the $79+ tune, I don't like those auto deal things. Once in them, can be stuck until you can get out. I avoid them. I deal with OA inflammation and see there are a couple ingredients in the Relief Factor I've not heard of, the others I take anyway...

I don't have the congestion bronchitis issues and believe the grape SEED ex is a big factor in that area.

I'll look at Relief Factor ingredients and see if they come separately too from other sources. I do that a lot.

I see it has Resvertrol in it which comes from the grape SKINS, but I have to look at the Icarin part of the ingredients.

Here is Icarin supp and I did look at Relief Factor before and the Icarin was a turn off and the other ingredients I take anyway.

rbryant, you may want to search my threads I've started since this year started (2017). I've developed a respiratory issue quite siddenly. I guess it's determined to be asthma, which adults can get for the 1st time in their lives (not just kids).

I had to go to the ER 1st thing in which they said viral bronchitis at first. You can read the rest in my threads, so I'm no retying everything again here.

Good to know, thanks. I've recently bought some, so I need to take it more regularly.
