And what are you basing your “ belief” on since Ibuprofen is MORE likely to cause ulcers, elevate BP, cause renal problems and potentially elevate risk of CAD than Celebrex

Celebrex is safer than Ibuprofen and your beliefs won’t change that fact

I'll take my chances, thanks doc. Just about every drug can do damage. Some just more $$$ getting the damage.

I'd say the list of Side Effects is a lot different from those of Ibuprofen.

I use Celebrex for a few days at a time in preop situations. No problems. After a procedure is done I am back on prescription strength naproxen. Cost of Celebrex keeps me away not fear.

Fear and cost keeps me away. I have a friend who has taken Naprosyn for many yrs and I've always wondered about side effects, haven't talked to her in some time. This is the prescription strength naproxen as I understand. I took naproxen years ago and recall blood pressure elevation, so stopped.

Isn't naproxen the generic to Aleve?

Naproxen is the only NAID I use except for an 81 gain blood thinner at night. Naproxen had never had any side effects for me and neither has Celebrex. Most of the so called natural meds are a hoax when it comes to inflammation relief in my book. I've tried several with all completely failing. Placebos never work on me.

Well, what an unproductive wild goose chase this was! Why am I not surprised that we ended up where we always do on these threads? "Should I do this"......5 pages of posts...."nope, why give profits to big Pharma?!"

Everyone hates big pharma until their product saves a life that would otherwise been lost... I've seen it happen. Roger Maris died and my son lived. Both same type of cancer... I suspect that peanut butter has killed far more people than Celebrex... not to mention shell fish and wild honey...
