I live in Florida. The family has had 6 COVID tests for various reasons with no wait. We arrived when scheduled, tested, and we were on our way in minutes.

Did you get your antibodies from natural immunity or from vaccination? The vaccines are specifically not designed to prevent COVID infection or spread.

I had Covid.

After you said that, I remembered I woke up with a scratchy throat, and called my doctor. He made the call...I was tested. But my allergy sore throats are different.

That's misinformation. You make it sound like the intent was to not stop infection. All vaccines are designed to generate antibodies. Whether those are able to stop infection completely varies but the design intent is always that they do. The scientists have repeatedly said "we do not know yet" if the vaccines stop infection and that somehow has morphed in the media into "the vaccines don't stop infection". From your own link:

"While the shots are 94% to 95% effective in preventing disease, there aren’t definitive data yet that they completely shut down the virus"

"That’s why public health officials have said that even if you’re vaccinated, you can’t, unfortunately, ditch the mask or start holding intimate dinner parties with your other vaccinated friends and family. That won’t happen until researchers finish their studies on the vaccines, which will take another several months, to determine how well the shots have stopped the virus from jumping ship from a vaccinated person to someone else."

"However, there has been some early good news on that front, thanks to two recent studies, one by AstraZeneca and one by a group of Israeli scientists. Both groups recently published data suggesting that COVID-19 vaccines might reduce the spread of virus, but that data begs closer scrutiny."

That was the point. Nowhere did I say OP shouldn't get tested, merely noted that there was recently a thread just like this. There was a previous thread not long ago where the OP said they had no sense of taste and/or smell, and everyone on the thread said "go get tested" and the OP kept saying "but this happens to me every time I get a cold." Not sure what the point of it all is... why would someone post during a pandemic that they have symptoms of that very illness and then be surprised that people tell them to go get tested?

I made an appointment, they still kept me waiting for over an hour.
Your mileage will vary.

So every 15 years...that's what, 3 times in your adult life? Hardly a trend.

And you wonder why getting a COVID test is being suggested in Feb 2021?

You're very lucky. My daughter and grandson took 2 hours last night at the pediatric urgent care. People were coming and going but they didn't. They had a rapid test that came back negative. My daughter has a lot of symptoms, even my 7 year old grandson is very fatigued since Monday, I'll be shocked if the other test doesn't come back positive.

I've been behind a few cars doing COVID tests at CVS. Takes about 15 minutes for each car. I see the cashier showing them how to shove the Q-tip up their nose.
