So now that I have to get one, I am trying to do all I can to prepare my body to avoid a problem. I think it is insane that no one is seriously looking into this. Wondering if anyone else has some thoughts.
* First, though this may be tough, I want to get my vaccine my a skilled professional. No CVS employee is going to Jab me. From the first day they were warning that injecting the shot wrong could lead to blood clots (I remember that back in February) and they are looking at that as a cause of some clots. In fact I have run a Vares search for the vaccine I am looking at and there were 5000 adverse events with pharmacy jabs and 3000 with a private provider. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02291-2
* Second, reduce sugar. The good news is I have been fasting and doing keto for about a year. But the literature is replete with information about the effects of "Glycation" on cells and also on a clotting factor - fibrinogen. Glycation increases the risk of clots. Did you know the American Diabetes Program recommends an aspirin a day for people with diabetes. I remember during the vaccination rush they were telling people to eat before getting the vaccine because you wouldn't get as good of an immune response if you were fasting. Wonder how many people grabbed a donut before hand.
* Considering - donating blood. Not right before I get the shot but about 4 weeks before.
* Reduce eating Vitamin K prior to the vaccine.
* Be sure to be fully hydrated. They actually even tell you to do this but most people do not do it. Water helps to thin the blood, which in turn makes it less likely to form clots.
If you don't have an answer don't respond.. mmmkkkayyy?
...a response is a response...if you can't take it, use "ignore".
But by all means, do whatever you need to do to feel better and more "in control". It's a scary time so somewhat of a natural reaction when you don't trust the vaccine. But don't let your mind play tricks on you so that you find you're having all kinds of issues after the vaccine.
Funny, you don't mention which one you've decided to get - any "poison" in a storm, you consider them equally bad?

It is derailing a thread. I believe a violation of terms. Sick of my posts being taken in a different direction from the get go.
J&J.
I think this is the best choice because
* only one injection, less chance to mess the injection up.
* Viral Vector, not MRNA...
* Per Vares it does appear that adverse events are the lowest for this vaccine and have taken a steep dive in June, July, and August.
* If something does go wrong, it does seem like doctors are paying attention more on this one.

Fewer Vaers reports might be because fewer people have received it.
In the US:
Pfizer 54M
Moderna 44M
J&J 9M
Interest in J&J dropped off after the pause. That might account for the dive in reports over the summer.

Duh.
I have already done the math. In my state 50K were administered from June to August.. with very small adverse events 50 or so.. with less and less as the months went on.
