Has anyone used a treatment that works? My prescription cream worked on the first dosage but the rash returned when I got the refill.

I don't know what type, but it is on my back. Unfortunately, it is not easy to reach. The doctor says it comes from pets.

You didn't ask the doctor the type?
Ok, can you see it?
It really doesn't matter, just keep using the cream, and focus on the edges of the fungus, is where the actual fungus is growing and is where the medicine works.

We got it from the cat and used the cream, it didn't go away, took horrible liver-killing pills, it didn't go away. I bought some Tea Tree Oil and used it every day (sometimes soaking a 2x2 with it and taping it on) and it went away. Give it a shot!

Thanks Megan. I'll get some TTO today. I had never heard of tinea so I never asked what type it was. Didn't know there were types.

Your doctor can do a scraping and send the fungus to a laboratory for identification for the genus and species, as well as susceptibility to antifungal agents. You might want to suggest he/she do this. There are several topical and systemic medications that can be prescribed.

Tinea can be ringworm and a couple other things.

Many are not bacterial and won't show a thing from the scraping. I'm suprised your md didn't do one. If you use selenium sulfide it will not work. if you use steroids they will not work. the only thing I have found to help a little is the tea tree oill. It helps with anything itchy too.

Good luck.

Check out some pictures of skin rashes and then ask your doctor. It took ME looking it up to tell the md what I had. Go figure
