Here is my question-- during my consult, my concern came up when the Dr told me he will only go to a C cup-- he didn't give me a large or small C.. just a C-- Currently I am wearing a D cup size.. How come I can't go to a B?? He said it's standard and rattled off medical terms and such..Now keep in mind, Ive never really been officially measured, so I only know what size bra I fit into.. I don't want to be dissatisfied

I was hoping to go to a B cup. The doctor I have chosen come HIGHLY recommended and has YEARS of experience in reductions.. Can anyone tell me if they had this concern, or maybe they can explain it to me..??

I live in a fairly small town so getting a second opinion from someone reputable could be a challenge

Hi -- I had a breast reduction on December 1st last year. I went from a DD to a small C or large B (the final size is yet to be determined - another few months I'll be confident in my exact size.) There is no reason your doctor cannot take you down more. He can, but he must have had experience with women who asked to be smaller and didn't like it. My doctor said most likely I would be a Small C or large B. He said his rule of thumb is to make the woman look proportionate. If I had said I wanted to be an A cup, he would have said that wouldn't look right on me based on my body size and shape.

I would strongly suggest you go to the support website that I was on almost constantly in the weeks before and then the months after my surgery: Breast Reduction Message Boards, Forums, Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic, Chats

Pose the same question there and see what people there have to say.

By the way, I am SOOOOOOOOO happy I had this done!!!! Good luck to you!

My question to you may sound like an offensive question, but please do not take it as one.

Are you currently overweight?

The dr can take you down to a smaller size, but if you are currently overweight, you may lose weight in the future and your breasts will also lose.

Well, did you end up going through with it? If so, it's a shame you were never properly measured, because having a correctly fitted bra makes all the difference in terms of comfort and appearance. Moderator cut: no advertising allowed Sometimes women who had been considering reductions even change their minds.

I hope either way, everything went well for you!

Was he board certified - ?? I wonder if you might still be swollen. Was he experienced - ?? Was it done in the US - ?? If you're not happy, I believe there's a medical board you can complain to.
