5-6 hours, and thats a lot for me. I don't even think I had 2 hours sleep last night. I have never been a "sleeper." You wouldn't believe what all I take that is supposed to make me sleepy. I would love to be one of those people who say "One Benadryl knocks me completely out!" Oh, and once I do fall asleep, I wake up numerous times.

Have you tried Melatonin? It always, ALWAYS works for me.
Yes, I have. I don't think theres much I haven't tried. So many say Ambien works for them, but not for me. I can be totally exhausted, and it still takes over an hour at least, to go to sleep, once I've gone to bed.
My Drs. are always trying to get me to take the sleep tests, but, I can't sleep in my comfy, king size bed, so, I know I wouldn't sleep there, with monitors all over me. I have to get up to go to the bathroom too much to try to go through that anyway. Isn't anyone else unable to turn their brain off when they go to bed?
Branson, how much melatonin do you take, and how long before you go to bed? Thanks.

I am the same way, always have been even when I was a baby. Anything that says may cause drowsiness keeps me awake all night. I tried the Melatonin and Valerian Root, they did nothing for me. I take Ambien and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. Sleeping is very hard for me. I also wake up a lot in the night. I am a very hyper person too with bad allergies that make me nervous, maybe that's why I can't sleep.
I sleep eight hours a night, and I would say that is my "perfect" sleep. I say that because I am unemployed at the moment (unfortunately) and no matter what time I go to bed, I always wake up eight hours later feeling rested and without the need to roll over and go back to sleep.
I was an insomniac as a child, teenager, and young adult. Once I finally learned how to sleep I began sleeping about 10 hours at a stretch, and I still do. I joke that I am still making up for lost sleep.

So, at least I have company. I take medicine in the AM, and PM. A couple of times I accidentally took my PM meds in the morning, these include 4 different things to relax me and put me to sleep. (yea, right). Anyway, the times I mixed up my AMs and PMs, I couldn't even tell! Thats how well they work on me. So frustrating.
