I have regular prescription glasses and I want to try contacts.
Can I call my eye doctor and get my prescription, then go online and order contacts or do I need a new prescription only for contacts?

You'll need a new prescription for contacts. Most places I've been to charge separate fees for contact lens exams.

Yep, they'll need to measure your eyes for the base curve so they fit correctly.

You'll love contacts. I'm 62 now and I've worn them since I was 17. Your peripheral vision will improve tremendously.

all of the above...and when you go for your exam you will receive a trial pair of lenses to get started with for which you'll wear them for a few hours every day until you get to wear them all day. It is a bit difficult at first to put them in and take them out but it will get easier. I had to get my teenager to take mine out the first few times when I failed to get it.

Yeah youll have to get a contact lens exam first and they will teach you insertion and removal at the office before sending you home with them. You will have that one pair that they give you and then you can order either from them or go online with your script and order more.

I think you're going to love the contacts. You will see the tops of trees like never before. Everything will be so clear and sharp.

You'll be saying, "I can SEE!"
