I'm 24 weeks pregnant and my perinatologist diagnosed my pregnancy with intrauterine growth restriction since the baby is weighing 1-2 weeks behind on average. Would like to know if anyone else has had this diagnosis and what your experiences were like. Thank you.
That seems to be a bit strange. A baby measuring 1-2 weeks behind or over is pretty normal from my past experience. Both of my daughters were small when they were born (5 lbs 4 oz and 5 lbs 5 oz) and the doctors monitored their growth throughout the pregnancies with ultrasounds and doppler tests. I don't know why they were born small since I gained 35-40 lbs with each pregnancy but they were both healthy and born by the due date. Neither pregnancy had the doctor diagnosing me with IUGR.
