Berlin is a must-see for every history fan. I've been there several times myself. History everywhere. Especially, of course, WW2 history.

Visiting Virginia, has nothing to do with visiting Berlin. Are you against travel abroad or learning about the Holocaust? If neither, what is the point?

There are historic places all over the country and the world. Is that the point?

Oh, good grief. You're not mad that we're interested in World War II. You're mad that we're not interested in what you're interested in. Look, if you want to start some real history threads, then please do so. But please stop these childish rants directed at others just because they're interested in something else.

Are you planning on crapping on every WW2 thread in here, dear?

Do they have much there about the Holocausts perpetrated by Stalin or Churchill?

Philadelphia has a lot of history, too.

So what is your point?

Holocausts perpetrated by Churchill?!

I remember visiting east & west berlin as a child in 1969 and 1975. Checkpoint Charlie was very surreal. Seeing signs near the East german border basically saying "go beyond this point and you will be shot" Made me appreciate the freedom I have in the US. Progress between '69 and '75 was having an armored personnel carrier patrol the streets of Schildow right by the border instead of tanks.

Then going in fall of 1990 was strange. Americans had dismantled their side of checkpoint charlie and the Soviets just left theirs, all gutted with a small fire that had burned a section and graffiti. Very eerie, like the ghosts were still there.

Can't wait to go back someday soon.
