Simple really, ever mistakenly thought two historical Figures lived at the same time, but later learned that the was not the case? Or perhaps you found that out that two people in fact did live at the same time and you were surprised by that?
So what are your examples?
Long ago I used to think that Leonardo da Vinci and William Shakespeare were alive at the same general time frame. Now I know better, Da Vinci died in 1519, 45 years before Shakespeare was even born(1564).
When I was a kid I thought Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett were the same age and maybe even related since they both looked exactly like Fess Parker. It wasn't until high school that I found out that Boone was in his 50s when Crockett was born. I also found out they looked nothing like Fess Parker, Daniel Boone wasn't tall at all, he was a 5'8 fat boy. I always figured Boone got killed by Indians but he died in his sleep at his boy's home in Missouri after stuffing himself with taters. Even though he was born in Pennsylvania, Kentucky came to Missouri years later to exhume the body and bring him back to their state and claim him as their own. But keeping with Missouri tradition, we pulled a fast one and had the headstone on the wrong grave and Kentucky ended up with the bones of an African American and Missouri still has the real McCoy. There is some controversy over Crockett's death as well, did he really die at the Alamo the way we were taught? He had a relative, Davy Crockett Jr. who was a vicious outlaw in New Mexico that bushwhacked three Buffalo soldiers and ended up dying in the saddle after lawmen filled him full of holes. Anyway, those are the two that came to mind when I read the title of this thread.

Your turn!!
What about Ronald Reagan (1911-2004; U.S. President between 1981 and 1989) and Levi P. Morton (1824-1920; U.S. Vice President between 1889 and 1893)? After all, Reagan and Morton were simultaneously alive for nine years (1911-1920) in spite of the fact that the peaks of their political careers were almost a century apart (1989-1893 = 96; 1981-1889 = 92)!
