I have seen pictures from Italy in the 1920s and 1930s, showing slogans written in public places, by the government:
MUSSOLINI IS ALWAYS RIGHT
This tops them all in terms of idiocy--nobody is always right.
How could Italians in the 1920s and 1930s actually believe that Mussolini was always right, or how could they even take that slogan seriously? And how could a government expect people to take that seriously?
It's really not as simple as "believing Mussolini was always right". Dictators are backed up by power that means that if someone speaks out against them, that person is punished. People may pretend to believe to escape punishment or death. The rise of fascism is a complicated thing. I reccomend reading the essay "Ur-Fascism" by Umberto Eco, who was Italian and grew up durin that era.

Definitely. Not an unfamiliar concept. A lot of people become brainwashed however and do believe it even if the main motivator is fear (whether it's fear of death or of being "cancelled"). It's easier and safer at least in the short term to go along than to resist.
70 Million Americans believed that Trump was always right. What's the difference?
Nobody ever said that about Trump, nor did Trump ever say anything so outlandish. Comparisons between Trump and past dictators is actually very degrading to history.

Did Italians really fall for that?
Thanks.
Europe was in misery, especially Germany, Mussolini and Hitler managed to improve living condition plus.
Even Stalin was improving living conditions o the people.

Trump has never admitted he was wrong about anything. That is the same as saying he was right about everything. I think that fact checkers caught him in 28,000 lies during his presidency. But to his fans he could do no wrong. He was, and to some still is, their tin god, like Hitler and Mussolini, who also have their fans to the present day.
I'm sorry folks. Before we get into a P&OC style argument, let's focus on History, not Current Events or Politics. The current administration and the immediate past President are off topic in this forum.

Right--- That PLUS each had their secret police only too willing to liquidate anybody who disagreed. That left only The Woke....We have the IRS to deal with dissidents.
