Alexander the Great

There were others too, throughout history. But noone ever has set the precedent so high and made megalomania look so loveable.

Son of Zeus, yeah, right!

For all we know, the biggest ego in history may have belonged to someone of whom no one has heard. It could be someone who despite the immensity of self image, utterly lacked the talent and energy needed to get noticed and remembered.

Guys, there's no place for megalomania in a democracy. They get to get booted out once in four/five years

Not something more obscure, something morse accurate.

History has no "biggest egomaniac ever", one could go on at great length listing great egomaniacs. And the Clintons come nowhere close.

I'll throw one out for you to chew on though, Chinese Gordon.
