My best suggestion would be- go look at some granite. I would start with the granite THEN choose the colors of the cabnet & island. Since this is only the planning stage start with what will give you the most impact. Lows & HomeDepot have free consults to plan these types of projects. Pull your samples together first for everything. Walls, floor, counters, cabnets... all of it. Take them home and place them around the room. Give yourself a couple of options for each eliment. Once you have looked at them in every light over the day. Then take things away as you realize what you are drawn to. Then look at it for a few days then impliment. I hope this helps.

I have made some progress. I am going with crema brodeaux granite for the countertop. It compliments both the beige cabinets and the moss cabinets. Now what to do with the backsplash... I am inclined to go with dark tiles otherwise everything will be light in the kitchen, but then I don't want it to fight for color with the granite.
