Not to be snippy, but this is extremely unlikely. As I said in my original reply this type of thing has a "DIY/ home crafts" appearance to it. While it may have been done by a professional the extreme range of colors, lack of unifying style and overall highly irregular/personalized look of this particular mosaic backsplash is very unlikely to be a plus for any buyer. Even folks whose tastes run toward this general style are unlikely to be motivated to purchase this home because of this backsplash, in all likelihood folks that find this sort of thing appealing would also be the type that would want to put their own personalized look / effort into this sort of thing.
Honestly I have seen very cohesive looking kitchens help a home when that look is highly personalized. This is especially true when the cohesive look is something like a classic California Bungalow along the lines of the work of Greene & Greene. Certainly this is very personalized and some people just won't consider a kitchen with period accurate appliances, but to others this can be heaven: View of kitchen, number 2 > interior photos of The Gamble House Similarly I have seen backsplashes that are on the "busy" side but made of imported tile that is part of a consistent Moorish style that cohesively ties together kitchens in homes with appropriate Spanish / North African /Mediterranean styling also help to "seal the deal" -- http://www.ibport.com/sites/default/...r1000025_0.jpg
Now if the OP wants something JUST LIKE the image they posted or even something much "swoopier" but inspired by other designs http://media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com...CeAiNwgF_b.jpg I would only caution that in my experience there is almost no chance their investment of time / money will be rewarded when they choose to sell. Of course that should not be the only motivation one has when making decisions like this, I merely point this out now so that down the road when their listing agent says "you might get more offers if you have plain Corian backsplashed installed over the mosaic" they don't react like a postal work told his route is switching from a truck to walking and he has to cover the same number of deliveries ...
Depends on the region. In the southwest, a brightly colored backsplash would be desirable. And any area where there is a strong Mexican influence would too.

I noticed that too. It's not hers. It's her dream backsplash.
Either way, it's a nice dream and a beautiful backsplash. And it's hard to judge what it looks like in relation to the rest of the kitchen from that picture.
OK, well then, since it's not really the OP's labor of love, I feel comfortable chiming in with my opinion -- which is, I hate it. It's too bright and chaotic for my taste and reminds me of the circus, which I also hate. I do have a mosaic backsplash but it's the small 1" square glass mosaics with a stainless-steel (looking) insert every here and there.
Avalon, I'm laughing about your comment about the circus - thought I was the only hater in the world!
While I think that backsplash is stunning, I don't know that I could wake up to it every morning. I want my kitchen to be a little more restful than that - all that being said, if it's in someone else's house I could see firsthand I'd probably fall in love and swear it was what I had to have....yeah, I know, indecisive most of the time.
Having worked in stained glass for many years, I will say - that is one expensive backsplash if it is custom. The check for the labor alone would choke a moose.

Well, perhaps it looks better from a distance when you can see the rest of the kitchen decor. But it's way busy up-close!
LOL, I think the bottom line with the circus is that it's too chaotic for me and makes me very anxious.
I agree that it's too "busy" for my taste, but I can see why others would really like it.
I wonder why more people who have granite countertops dont run the granite all the way up the backsplash to the upper cabinets. Surely it cant be any more expensive than some of the tiled backsplashes I've seen.

You're not alone. My son hates the circus too, especially clowns. When he was a little 4 year old, he would stand there and say in all seriousness, "I hate clowns." It was unsettling. Like what did clowns do to deserve that. Fast forward years later, he went on a party boat ride with a friend's family. There was a clown on board for entertainment. He felt trapped. Poor guy couldn't escape the clown!

I've seen that in my friend's new-construction townhouse but I didn't like it. It seemed very cold. And I think it would be more expensive; you'd need a whole extra slab for the backsplash, with cut-outs for the outlets and switches.
