Now that we figured out what color to paint the cabinets, chose countertops and flooring, we need to decide on paint color. The cabinets are a dark chocolate color, counters are Golden Travertine, and the floors are a beige color to match the counters. Now it's time to pick the paint. I like yellow but I'm not too sure it's going to have enough contrast. I also thought about this color:

I may use that color in my living room though. Suggestions please.

Choose dark blue kind of color. A blend of dark and light blue.

There should be a contrast if you go with natural stone flooring. If the countertop or flooring is light then go with a darker paint, if it is dark, then go with a lighter paint. Color depends upon your choice and likings.

I definitely want contrast. I was just worried with the cabinets being so dark that it make it too dark in the kitchen. Is this so? I like the idea and yes it does depend on my liking but I love other people's suggestions as well. Thanks to everyone for being so helpful!

I came across this the other day:

breath of fresh air 806 Paint - Benjamin Moore breath of fresh air Paint Color Details

It's apparently their 2014 color of the year, supposedly going to be the "new" neutral color...

I like Benjamin Moore spring meadow. Its a happy color. Ryegrass was one of my picks too but ended up with Spring Meadow.
But blue as suggested might go better with the travertine.

Even though it's the 2014 color, I'm not too sold on a pale blue in the kitchen. I think it would look great in a bathroom though.

Spring Meadow was the color I was imagining. I think it would give contrast. How do you all think it would look in the kitchen?

I tried the green color but I'm not sure it's going to work. I'm going to have to try something else.

Yellow was my first choice. I'm really going to try to make it work.
