I want to from this medium brown carpet to a lighter version of itself.


I do know carpet can get dyed to a darker color,but then I saw something on Pinterest.

Sure you can bleach carpet, it will look horrible, but you can try . If you have the funds to replace the carpet if it doesn't work, you can try dying the carpet and if it doesn't work, put in new.

There are so many websites of Pinterest fails... projects that people actually believed they could accomplish themselves. I bet rug bleaching is well represented.

Don't do it it will ruin the carpet save your money and purchase the lighter carpet.

I guess i mean using dye to lighten it,rather than using dye to darken it.

you cannot dye something a lighter color, so you were correct the first time in saying bleach. And it's very unlikely to get a uniform and attractive color. Get new carpet.

That would be impossible. I know of no dye that lightens a dark color. Dyes always darken.
