That's what I figured would happen to the small table in our foyer, but somehow it hasn't happened yet. We bought a neat wrought iron table with a curved front and glass inset top as part of a set at Lowes for $99. The set came with a matching mirror, lamp and picture frame, so for $99 we were able to outfit the entire foyer- not a bad deal.

I have a very similar space in my house. I have nesting tables with a low basket with greenery in it. Then there are two complimenting pictures that are staggared on the wall. It's one of my favorite little corners in the house.

How do you keep it from being a catch-all ¿ Any table near my front door always gets cluttered.....

I would put one of those ladder shelves and put pictures and other collectibles on it.

I disagree - we raised 4 sons and had a very busy household - we did not have clutter areas.......it just didn't happen - we taught our kids to put things in their place and they did and my husband and I are neat and organized....not everyone has cluttered areas in their home.

What kind of decor do you have in the rooms attached?

ETA: What about something like this? I didnt see an electrical plug in the entry way, but this would be really neat. It does not seem like its too much. With the space the way it is, you want it simple.
